Eclipse takes its name from 1910, the year a total solar eclipse coincided with the passage of Halley's Comet. It's made from a blend of heavier pot-still and lighter column-still rum (including an unusual Coffey still, more typically associated with Irish whiskey), using water filtered through Barbados's coral limestone geology from a 250-foot well, then aged up to two years in ex-bourbon barrels.
