Illy’s classic porcelain espresso cups feature Yoko Ono’s unique style accompanied by prints of handwritten messages. Six cups display a variety of mended cracks painted in gold, accompanied by their own individual saucer with Yoko’s handwriting, detailing both personal and global catastrophes. Each saucer lists the date and location of the event, with Yoko’s message, “mended in 2015.”
The seventh cup of the collection is the UNBROKEN CUP. It has no cracks or blemishes, but instead remains untouched as a symbol of peace and hope. With it, comes the final message on the seventh saucer in Ono’s handwriting, “This cup will never be broken as it will be under your protection.”
