El Silencio Espadín is a small-batch artisanal mezcal made for high-end mixology — handmade from mature Espadín agave with the signature smoke of traditional mezcal production.

Mezcal differs from tequila in agave and method: El Silencio uses Espadín agave aged 10–12 years and roasts the hearts in underground pits, which is what gives mezcal its characteristic smoke. Handmade in small batches, it is soft on the palate with ripe fruit sweetness balanced by subtle, intermingled smoke and spice.

It works neat in the traditional sipping style, or as a smoky backbone in cocktails — a Mezcal Margarita, Oaxacan Old Fashioned, or paloma variation.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between mezcal and tequila? Both are agave spirits, but mezcal can use many agave varieties (here Espadín) and roasts the agave hearts in underground pits, giving the characteristic smoke. Tequila uses only Blue Weber agave and is typically oven-baked.
  • What does El Silencio Espadín taste like? Soft and fruit-forward with subtle, balanced smoke and spice — made for sipping and high-end cocktails.
  • How do you drink it? Neat in the traditional style, or in cocktails like a Mezcal Margarita or Oaxacan Old Fashioned.
